I've been a lifelong struggler with my itchy scalp/sores/dandruff. I've spent a lot of money on OTC shampoos with no real cure and found most of them stripped my scalp leaving it dry and still itchy even if the flakiness resolved. I read the description of this tonic so thought I'd give it a try and it has helped! It took about three weeks for my scalp to heal using this as a treatment before shampooing twice a week... bought a spray pump to spray directly onto my scalp, massaged it in, left the tonic to work overnight, and washed the next morning with a gentle shampoo.

I have very thick hair and used a LOT of tonic each application, but still have about 1/4 bottle left after 5 treatments. There is a residue with this tonic which makes my hair look super greasy/oily while I am letting it 'work', and it does end up on my pillowcase (which I change every time I shampoo). It's not cheap but is nothing compared to the money I've spent on so many different shampoos and other scalp treatments. I'm happy to have this as a natural option and hope it keeps working for occasional flare ups.

I had been using this product for about three months, and it wasn’t until the fourth month (my second time purchasing it) that I developed a raised rash on my lower right cheek. At first, I didn’t think it could be the product since I’d been using it for several months—and have used other Marie Veronique products for over a year without any issues. However, as soon as I stopped using this tonic, the rash began to clear up and was completely gone within a week.

My thought is that the new formulation, which includes milk proteins (whey protein and lactose), may have played a role in my reaction.

I love Marie Veronique products overall, but this particular tonic just didn’t work for me.
