Don’t lather up with toxic foams—
Shave with MILDLY FOAMING SHAVING OIL

A new and unique product to the market, this formula does not come from a can like the widely used (and highly toxic) traditional shaving foams, but it produces a lathering effect—without all the chemicals. It softens the hair follicle and coats the skin with a light lather high in essential fatty acids to create a smooth shaving surface, which helps to reduce irritation, folliculitis (aka razor rash) and ingrown hairs.

A gentle lather smooths + softens hair follicles with BLACK WILLOW BARK.

1 fl oz | 30ml

This foaming shaving oil coats the skin with a light lather high in essential fatty acids to create a smooth shaving surface. Willow bark extract contains salicylic acid which penetrates deep into the hair follicle to soften hair, which allows the razor to glide easily across the skin. A slick glide reduces the risk of irritation, razor bumps or ingrown hairs, and diminishes the appearance of folliculitis (aka razor rash), a common side effect of shaving that results in small red bumps around hair follicles.

BENEFITS

Creates a smooth surface for an effective shave

Reduces risk of razor bumps, folliculitis and irritation caused by shaving

Leaves skin soft, smooth and clear

    Disappointing

I am relatively new to Marie Veronique, but have so far been overjoyed with the results from the Multi-Retinol Night Emulsion (first retinol *ever* to not give me any irritation!) and my skin is responding well so far to the C-Therapy Serum, the Barrier Restore serum, and the B3 Soothing Serum. I was excited for this shaving oil because I have fairly sensitive skin (I can only shave once a week-ish) and am always looking for something to soothe and make the experience a calmer one. Unfortunately, this oil is wreaking havoc on my skin and potentially undoing some of the benefits of the abovementioned products. First, I need to use many times more than the instructions say to get a decent foam going against a pretty scant beard (if I don't, my blade immediately nicks my skin) and the three times I've used it have resulted in small breakouts on my cheeks and upper lip, and general irritation at the neck. My skin is also rather dry and tense at the end of the shave (the opposite of how my skin feels when I apply my other MV products). The ingredients are wonderful, as they are with all MV products, so I'm not really sure why this is causing such issues. Fortunately it isn't as expensive as the other MV products, but $35+ is still an investment in a teeny bottle of shaving oil. This in no way discourages me from continued use of other MV products, but this was a disappointment.
